I turned my back on you…
dropped a tear or two..
walked a few steps away…
another drop or two…
I was moving forward
but my mind was stuck
everything was so blurry…
I couldn’t see a thing…
yes everything was blurry
n I couldnt see a thing but you….
you saw me walk away
but you didnt see me wipe away my tears…
it was hard to breathe as I walked away…
the languid air forlorn of all hope…
it was hard to find my way in the dark….
lost I was as I didnt know my way…
didnt know my way to the unknown…
what lay ahead looked so empty…
as though something was missing…
as though you were missing…
not a pretty picture….
not a complete picture…
I dared to look behind…
just to make sure I had made the right move….
I dared to look behind at you…
just to check if I was actually leaving without you…
turned around….couldnt see anything….
with my tear-filled eyes…I couldn’t see you…
blinked my tears away…still couldn’t see you…
it took a moment
to realise that you were not there
no I didnt see you leave….
and I chose not to chase

so I ran on the empty road….

By this really furry white dog

I used to say ‘dear doggie! pity!’
